USA snowboarder Shaun White won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver yesterday which is an amazing feat and should just propel him to even higher heights, and it probably will.  However the big story on Yahoo today was the fact that just after the scores confirmed that Shaun won the gold medal and before he started his final run, he had a testosterone filled celebratory chat with his coach.  This was supposed to be a couple of guys who worked really hard celebrating their victory and like a lot of guys do, there were a few cuss words uttered, unfortunately these words were picked up by the NBC microphones and broadcast over the air.  Now some people want to make a big deal about a couple of guys who used foul language in their celebration.  I’m not a fan of cursing, but, this is not really a news story.  It only made the news because it was broadcast over the air.

I have heard that Shaun makes about $10 million dollars a year in endorsements.  I’m sure his sponsors would rather that he not be caught cursing on live television, but after winning a second gold medal, I don’t think this will hurt him at all.  I’d be willing to bet that he makes a lot more that $10 million in endorsements next year.  You can read the Yahoo story by clicking HERE.
