This blog was born on the same day as Super Bowl 44 was played.  This is the day that the largest television audience of the year comes together to watch a great game and some of the most entertaining commercials of the year.  I watched the game and the commercials, the only break I took was during the halftime show.  I’m not a big Who fan, but I love to play pinball so I liked that their first song was Pinball Wizard.  Back to the commercials.  I really liked two spots.  My favorite was the Doritos commercial, called House Rules,  where the young kid lays down the law to his mommas new date.  It was very entertaining but from a Christian perspective I can’t condone a kid slapping an adult, but in this case it was supposed to be funny and it was.  You can watch the spot here.

The second favorite was the commercial for Google called Parisian Love.  I have never seen a consumer commercial for Google like this before, so first of all I was surprised to see it and secondly I liked the simplicity of the spot, just like the Google homepage.  It was easy to follow and while I was watching it, it soon became clear that they were telling a story through the searches.  Great spot and it highlighted the service that Google provides.

What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial and why?
